WEBTOON Entertainment announced on October 5 it is partnering with Marvel to launch a new Marvel Comics app on November 16, offering digital access to Marvel's library of current and classic comics.

Marvel has additionally announced that its Marvel Unlimited service, which launched in November 2007, will end service in December. The service will stop adding new content on December 7, and readers will no longer be able to read comics on the service on the same day. Members will still be able to browse their library until December 21, and the app will officially end service on December 28.

Readers will be able to export their existing Marvel Unlimited library and reading history to the Marvel Comics app. Active Marvel Unlimited subscriptions will be eligible for an automated, prorated refund. More information on the end of Marvel Unlimited can be found here.

The new Marvel Comics app will be available on mobile and on browser. WEBTOON Entertainment is developing the app, which will include comics from Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios. It will support both traditional page-based comics and vertical-scroll formats.

WEBTOON stated the service will also "continue growing with more features and stories from across Disney's portfolio."

The service will allow readers to browse thousands of comics through a cover-based interface, receive personalized recommendations, and follow specific series, characters, and creators. A Pull List feature will notify users when new issues from followed titles become available, while an enhanced smart-panel mode will enlarge individual panels for easier reading on mobile devices.

The app will launch with two subscription tiers. The Base plan will cost US$9.99 per month or US$69.99 per year, with new issues becoming available three months after their print release. The Ultimate plan will cost US$12.49 per month or US$99.99 per year and will provide access to new issues one month after their print release, in addition to the full digital library.

Fans can pre-register for the service and receive a limited-time founding member price of US$59.99 for the first year of the Ultimate annual plan.

The app is debuting at New York Comic Con, which is running from October 8-11. Those interested can get an early look at the beta version of the app at the Marvel Comics app booth.

WEBTOON Entertainment had announced a global partnership with Disney in August 2025 to adapt and distribute around 100 comics from Disney, Marvel, 20th Century Studios, and Star Wars in WEBTOON's mobile vertical-scroll format. A month later, The Walt Disney Company and WEBTOON Entertainment announced they had signed a non-binding term sheet to develop a new digital comics platform.
