Royal Challengers Bengaluru opened its bidding at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction in Kochi on Wednesday, raising the paddle for Australian all-rounder Jess Jonassen at her base price of Rs 40 lakh.

The 33-year-old previously represented Delhi Capitals across three seasons, taking 33 wickets in 24 matches while also scoring 295 runs.

Jonassen, who withdrew from the WPL 2026 auction due to injury, was recently ruled out of the upcoming Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) season with a hip complaint. However, the experienced left-arm spinner is expected to return to competitive cricket by January 2027.
