Indonesia lands $138 million in investment commitments from Europe

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Danareksa, an Indonesian holding company for industrial estates, has secured investment commitments worth approximately Rp2.5 trillion (US$138 million) from investors in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands at the 2026 Indonesia Investment Forum (IIF).
"The investment commitments reflect global confidence in Indonesia's economy, the transformation we are undertaking, and the country's long-term prospects," Rosan Roeslani, head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and CEO of Danantara Indonesia, said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) and PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang, both members of the Indonesian Industrial Estate Holding, signed investment agreements covering industrial land utilization and digital infrastructure development in Batang's Industropolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
During the event, Roeslani noted that investment realization from January to September 2026 reached Rp1,539.2 trillion, marking a 7.3-percent increase, with half of the total investment coming from foreign investors.
In line with the government's strategic direction, industrial estates have emerged as long-term investment destinations for global investors, helping ensure that the benefits of industrialization are well-managed and generate tangible value for Indonesia.
Ngurah Wirawan, president director of the Indonesian Industrial Estate Holding, said the agreements signed in London reflected global investors' confidence in Indonesia as a reliable investment partner offering an integrated and modern industrial ecosystem, supported by quality services, skilled workers, and a commitment to sustainability.
Looking ahead, industrial estates will play a strategic role as economic growth drivers, supported by reliable utilities, modern infrastructure, integrated connectivity, and a skilled workforce.
Consequently, these estates are expected to evolve into modern industrial townships, serving as integrated hubs where industrial activities and community life thrive side by side.
"The mandate entrusted to us by Danantara Indonesia drives us to transform Indonesia's industrial estates into a premier global investment destination, ensuring that every investment generates added value for the Indonesian economy and improves public welfare," Wirawan said.
Currently, the Indonesian Industrial Estate Holding manages seven industrial estates spanning 7,706 hectares across six provinces. The estates host more than 1,200 tenants from 25 countries, have attracted over US$10 billion in investment, and provide employment for more than 300,000 people.
