With the release of the show's first trailer, it has been revealed that Trinity will premiere on Netflix on Tuesday 1 December.
The cast also includes Marcia Gay Harden, JD Pardo, Bruce Greenwood, Robert Wisdom, Kirk Acevedo, Ben Cotton, James Remar, Jason Ralph, and Mark O'Brien.
Trinity's official synopsis teases: "Gugu Mbatha-Raw stars as Commander Katherine Decker, second-in-command aboard the USS Kansas, a nuclear submarine.
"When she develops an unlikely bond with Secretary of Defense Webb Preston (Richard Madden), she finds herself drawn into dangerous machinations surrounding a top-secret programme code-named Trinity."

Mercurio serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Bradley Gardner and Wendy Mericle also executive produce, along with Jimmy Mulville.
Speaking to Tudum, Mercurio opened up about what inspired his latest series: "I love watching thrillers as much as I enjoy making them. One of my all-time favourites is No Way Out. I wanted to create an action thriller set around the Pentagon with a high-stakes conspiracy to challenge a heroic naval officer."

Nuclear submarines also gave Mercurio a new world to explore, with him continuing: "The ballistic nuclear submarines in the US Navy are the most powerful weapons ever created.
"They can hide in the ocean depths undetected for months and carry the firepower to wipe out entire countries. There’s no deadlier or more claustrophobic setting for a thriller."
