Kimmarie Johnson, the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress who also competed in the 1993 Miss USA beauty pageant, has died. She was 50.

Johnson died Wednesday after experiencing a “heart event” at her Los Angeles home on Oct. 27, her niece Rhonda Scott told People. She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital and diagnosed with a “heart aneurysm condition.”

“She radiated a light so strong and bright,” said Scott. “People who came in contact with her felt nothing but positive energy. We will miss her tremendously and will continue to honor her life forever.”

Johnson was featured in a 1998 episode of Beverly Hills, 90210, where she portrayed the character of Judy.

Before beginning her career as an actress in 1998, she worked as a flight attendant and went on to sign with the modeling agency Docherty. She competed in the 1992 Miss Pennsylvania USA pageant, which she won with no history as a beauty queen. Her victory led her to compete in the 1993 Miss USA beauty pageant, where she placed in the top six.

In 1996, Johnson moved out to Los Angeles and continued to model while also expanding her career into acting. Her first credit came in 1998 with Troy Byer’s drama Let’s Talk About Sex.

The actress went on to appear in additional projects including Dude, Where’s My Car?, Shadow Fury, Wanda at Large, Break a Leg and Tucker War’s, among others.

Johnson had her son, Cameron Nino, in 2003, which led her to take a break from acting. During that interim, she took classes at The Groundlings.
