KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 — A tuition teacher has been arrested over alleged sexual offences involving five male students with police investigating separate reports involving teenage and child victims, the New Straits Times reported.

City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the alleged offences took place at the suspect’s home, which was also used as a tuition centre.

According to the English daily, he said five police reports had been lodged at the Bukit Jalil police station, with the first made on October 6, followed by another on October 10 and three more on October 11.

Fadil said police had conducted detailed investigations and recorded statements from the victims and their family members, as well as other relevant parties.

He added that the victims’ families, schools and the District Education Office had cooperated with the investigation.

According to the New Straits Times, the suspect has been arrested and remanded to assist police with further investigations, he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 377C of the Penal Code and Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act.
