‘The Moment’s Trew Mullen Boards Romance Serial Killer Thriller ‘Crocodile Smile’
EXCLUSIVE: Trew Mullen, coming off A24’s record-setting The Moment, has joined the cast of Crocodile Smile, the upcoming film from writer/director Tyler Riggs (God’s Waiting Room, Peace in the Valley) and producer Rob Cristiano (Down with the King, The Miseducation of Cameron Post).
Currently shooting in Florida, Crocodile Smile follows a meticulous killer who falls for a nervous realtor, setting off a romance that soon unravels into a bloody mess. Mullen will play Madison, a deceptively unassuming young woman with the brutality of a seasoned serial killer.
Mullen most recently starred opposite Charli XCX and Alexander Skarsgård in A24’s The Moment, Aidan Zamiri’s mockumentary in which she plays Charli’s assistant. The film world premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and screened in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival. Ahead of its theatrical release, it posted the fastest presales of any limited release in A24’s history, selling out more than 50 screenings nationwide. The Moment continues to own the best opening weekend theater average YTD with a near $107K.
Mullen made her feature film debut as Heather in Zoë Kravitz’s feature directorial debut for Amazon MGM Studios, Blick Twice, opposite Channing Tatum, Naomi Ackie, Adria Arjona, Simon Rex, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Alia Shawkat, Geena Davis and Kyle MacLachlan. The psychological thriller, which Kravitz co-wrote with E.T. Feigenbaum, was 74% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and debuted at No. 1 on premium VOD platforms including iTunes.
Up next, Mullen will appear in Blaise Beyhan’s indie thriller Callback opposite Jai Courtney, Dennis Quaid, Carla Gugino, Giovanni Ribisi, Willa Fitzgerald and Aaron Moten, as well as Leo Milano’s comedic thriller The Lottery alongside Sofia Wylie, Madison Thompson and Belmont Cameli.
The actress is represented by Buchwald, Luber Roklin Entertainment and Bloch Law.
