Big Cass says the Enzo Amore reunion talk made his WWE return harder than he expected. The two former tag team partners got linked right away once news of Cass signing with WWE surfaced, but he's been working on his own. Besides that, Bayley's future is uncertain with her contract close to expiring, and Dave Meltzer has shared details about WWE's original plans for the Crown Jewel tag team match involving The Vision, Penta and Je'Von Evans. Oba Femi was part of those initial creative plans too, before WWE changed direction.

Big Cass Explains Why Enzo Amore Reunion Speculation Made His WWE Comeback More Difficult

Cass talked about it on The Sal Licata Show, where he got into the expectations around his return and how the constant Enzo Amore comparisons affected it. The second his signing became public, a lot of people started discussing a possible reunion. Cass admitted that made things harder for him.

"Especially because when news came out of me signing with WWE, it immediately got linked to him," Cass said. "'They're coming back together. They're going to be running it back together.' A lot of podcasts ran with that story, and people believed it."

Then he explained that coming back without Enzo was different than what people had expected.

"So then I come back on my own, and some people are like, 'Wait, what?' So it kind of made it a little difficult, but I think so far I've done a pretty damn good job in the situation I'm in, getting booed out of buildings, which is really the goal."

Cass and Enzo were one of NXT's popular tag teams before they made main roster debut on RAW in 2016. The partnership ended eventually, and neither guy reached the same level of success as a singles performer after the split. Cass also had a stint in AEW, but it didn't turn into a particularly memorable run.

Bayley's WWE Contract Situation and Oba Femi's Original Crown Jewel Role Emerge

Bayley's current WWE contract is nearing its end, and what she does next isn't clear. Meltzer discussed her position on Wrestling Observer Radio, suggesting AEW isn't where she's headed right now. He also questioned whether WWE would give the four-time women's world champion a bigger spot in its women's division.

"They're not gonna put her in the top four women's spot," Meltzer said. "They've got her at a certain slot, and really her slot is to be one of the women to get the younger women over."

The Crown Jewel tag team plans got changed too. Bron Breakker and Austin Theory are scheduled to defend the tag team titles against Penta and Je'Von Evans. According to Meltzer, though, WWE first planned a six-man tag team match, which means three wrestlers on each side, with Oba Femi joining Penta and Evans against Breakker, Theory and Bronson Reed.
