RJ Mitte Dies: ‘Breaking Bad’ Actor Was 34

Translate

RJ Mitte, who played the son of Bryan Cranston’s Walter White on the Emmy-winning series Breaking Bad and became a disability-rights activist from his experiences living with cerebral palsy, has died at age 34.

Mitte’s reps confirmed the news Monday, saying he died in Brownsville, TX. No immediate cause of death was given.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte,” his reps said.

Mitte, whose Breaking Bad character Walter Jr also had CP, would build a platform on disability awareness and inclusion due to the series’ popularity. He served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s as well as president of The Mitte Foundation, which supports philanthropic efforts and community initiatives. He worked to challenge stereotypes and promote greater representation for people with disabilities.
