Here’s when Kaizer Chiefs fans will see Elias Mokwana for the first time

Kaizer Chiefs supporters could get their first glimpse of new signing Elias Mokwana in action later this month, with the winger potentially making his debut against Chippa United on Saturday, 28 November.
Amakhosi coach Fernando Da Cruz has indicated that Mokwana will not be rushed into the starting line-up following his arrival at Naturena.

The 27-year-old Bafana Bafana international joined the Glamour Boys as a free agent after spells with Tunisian giants Espérance de Tunis and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hazem.
Mokwana’s arrival is expected to add pace, creativity and attacking options to the Kaizer Chiefs squad as they look to improve their performances in the Betway Premiership.
However, Da Cruz believes the upcoming international break will be important in getting the new recruit up to speed.
Da Cruz explains Mokwana’s integration plan
Speaking ahead of Kaizer Chiefs’ Carling Knockout quarter-final against Siwelele FC, Da Cruz praised Mokwana’s experience but acknowledged that he faces a challenge after missing a proper pre-season.
“Elias Mokwana is a very good player, an experienced player with international experience, he has a lot of quality,” Da Cruz said.
“With no pre-season? It will be tough, but during the upcoming FIFA break it will be the time to integrate him into the team, step by step.”
The break will give the technical team an opportunity to work on the winger’s fitness and familiarise him with the club’s playing style.
Kaizer Chiefs are scheduled to face Siwelele on Sunday, 8 November (18:00) in the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-finals at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Mokwana is not expected to feature in that match as the club takes a cautious approach to his introduction.
Chippa United could be Mokwana’s first Chiefs test
Kaizer Chiefs’ next scheduled league fixture after the international break is an away match against Chippa United on Saturday, 28 November.
That encounter could provide Mokwana with his first opportunity to pull on the famous gold and black jersey in a competitive match.
However, Da Cruz has not confirmed a specific debut date, and the winger will first need to convince the technical team that he is ready.
Mokwana returns to South African football after two seasons abroad. He previously represented Sekhukhune United before moving to Espérance in 2024.
He also spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Al-Hazem in Saudi Arabia.
The former Sekhukhune United attacker will now be looking to make his mark at one of South Africa’s biggest clubs, with Kaizer Chiefs supporters eagerly awaiting his first appearance.
