Translate

The Department of Provincial Administration has mourned a village headman who was electrocuted while helping residents affected by flooding in Prachin Buri province.

In a Facebook post on 2 October, the department paid tribute to Thongphim Muangphrom, the village headman of Moo 4 in Khu Lamphan subdistrict, Si Mahosot district.

Thongphim had been assisting residents and monitoring their safety during the recent flooding when he was electrocuted while on duty and died on the night of 1 October, the department said.

It said he had also shown courage during an emergency in 2025, when he jumped into a canal to rescue a 6-year-old boy trapped inside a car that had veered into the water. The boy was taken to hospital and survived.

“Both in normal times and during disasters, Thongphim carried out his duties as a village headman with pride,” the department said, praising his courage, dedication and willingness to help others despite the danger.

The department expressed its deepest condolences to his family.
