Emmerdale's Moira Dingle sparks fury by sabotaging Samson release

Translate

Tensions are running high in the Dingle family as Samson's release looms, and while he isn't expected to be released from prison anytime soon, his return is already causing arguments between Moira and Lydia.

For context, Samson left the village following a stabbing incident, though he initially attempted to pin the blame on Matty – something which earnt him Moira's ire.

Matty was originally residing at Emmerdale Farm, but has since moved in with the Dingles at Wishing Well Cottage after Sarah, Jacob and baby Leyla moved in. Now, with Samson's prison release pending, the fracture in the family grows ever further as Moira's comments to the probation officer sparks a row.

Since moving in with Sam and Lydia, Matty has taken up residence in Samson's room and Lydia assured the probation officer that they'll have a place ready for him upon his release.

After introducing herself, Moira informed the officer that Matty has since moved back in to the home after she mentioned her two sons, Kyle and Isaac, also living there.

Lydia then responded by telling the officer that they can make other arrangements, but Moira refused, saying that Matty was her son and he has "as much right to live here as anyone else".

After mentioning Matty's forgiving of Samson, Lydia said that Moira should be able to do the same, but she disagreed, adding: "Maybe because I don't believe in brushing things under the carpet."

The probation officer asked if there was a problem, but Lydia denied this, as she said Matty and Samson are friends now, though Moira expressed doubt.

Once the officer left, things really kicked off as Lydia told Moira that she and Sam would never forgive her if she prevented Samson from coming home. However, Moira isn't sorry for her actions as she believed she was protecting Matty, though Lydia wasn't having it and the two hurled insults at each other.

This was too much for Matty, who then expressed his intention to move back to the farm to avoid jeopardising Samson's return.

Now, it's Moira who isn't happy as she told Lydia: "Are you happy now? You should be. You've got what you wanted."

Though we won't see Samson for a while, Moira has already made it clear that she doesn't plan to make it easy for him.

Elsewhere, Cain expressed his suspicion about Sadie King, whose currently staying with Caleb and Ruby. When Cain tells Caleb to get her out of his house, he dismissed his concerns as he is confident she won't get past him. Will Cain's words come back to haunt Caleb?
