Emmerdale airs major Robert Sugden and Sadie King twist as Jimmy's money is found in early ITVX release

Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has double crossed Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) in Emmerdale.

For the last month, ever since her return to the eponymous village, the pair have been secretly scheming to get their hands on the late Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) money.

It appears that Jimmy had been helping ex-wife Sadie financially for quite some time, and was on his way to deliver a final wad of cash to her when he crashed his car and died. His grieving spouse Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) was stunned when Sadie claimed that the beloved character had been cheating on her for three years.

In order to get her feet under the table at Victoria Cottage, Sadie implied that she had no idea that Jimmy was still with Nicola, otherwise she wouldn't have pursued a relationship with him.

There are voice notes that would expose the lies, though Nicola has found it too difficult to listen to them.

In today's episode, she studied a mystery key in The Woolpack. She knew that it belonged to Jimmy, but had no idea what it was actually for.

Listening in, Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) explained that it was from one of the lockers at Hotten Golf Club - and that it could contain the cash that Jimmy received in exchange for the sale of his haulage business to Caleb Miligan (William Ash).

Desperate to get the money herself, Sadie enlisted Robert's help in finding the money. They couldn't force the locker open, and before they had opportunity to investigate further, Nicola arrived with her dad Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower).

Sadie and Robert ran around a corner to hide, though it later transpired that there wasn't actually anything left in the locker. Nicola and Rodney returned to the village disheartened.

Later, at Emmerdale Farm, Robert was found by partner Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) playing with Jimmy's old golf clubs. Aaron questioned why he had them, and he claimed that they were inheritance - alongside the £150,000 that was contained in the matching bag.

He finally had the whole Sugden clan under his roof, was back farming the land that his ancestors had once tended to, and had a wad of cash to support future ventures.

Back in the village, a woman was knocking on Nicola's door with a bouquet of flowers. Sadie approached and asked who she was, and was surprised to hear she was from the golf club.

The woman said she was sad to hear of Jimmy's death, though she hadn't actually met him herself. She was glad to be acquainted with his nephew, however, following a chance meeting at the clubhouse that morning.

Sadie was puzzled by the mention of Jimmy's nephew, though after hearing a description of him - a man in his early 40s, with blonde hair and wearing a farmer's gilet - she realised that the woman was referring to Robert!

How will Sadie react?
