SpaceX COO Gwynne Shotwell donates 2M+ shares to children’s Trump Accounts

- Eligible Trump Account holders will begin receiving donated shares of SpaceX (SPCX) stock next month, according to an X post on Friday. Trump Accounts, also known as 530A accounts, are open to any U.S. child under 18 with a Social Security number.
- “Robert and I are thrilled that our gift of over 2 million shares of SpaceX stock will be distributed to children’s Trump accounts in December!” president and COO Gwynne Shotwell wrote in the post.
- The gift from Shotwell and her husband will provide one share each to about 2 million Trump Accounts holders aged 11 to 17 in ZIP codes with median family incomes of $57,000 or less, as well as areas where income data is unavailable due to small populations. Eligible families are expected to receive notification by Monday, Shotwell said in a post on X.
- “In a few weeks, an additional gift will be finalized for eligible 11- to 17-year-old children in military families serving overseas, children in foster care, and more children whose MFI is $90,000 or less living in counties near our home in the great state of Texas,” she also wrote.
- Parents or guardians can check eligibility for the donation through Invest America, a nonprofit advocacy group, and track account activity with the Trump Accounts app.
- Additional funding may be available based on eligibility criteria. In a separate announcement in October, Elon Musk said on X that he plans to give every child in the U.S. a share of SpaceX in 2027, potentially through Trump Accounts.
