Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Issues concerning the presence of Myanmar nationals in Malaysia and student safety in schools are expected to be highlighted in today's Dewan Rakyat sitting.

According to the Order Paper on the Parliament portal, Suhaizan Kaiat (PH-Pulai) will ask the Prime Minister during Minister's Question Time to outline government measures addressing the long-standing presence of Myanmar nationals, including refugees and asylum seekers.

Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah (PN-Indera Mahkota) will ask the prime minister why incidents threatening student safety persist in schools despite existing safety guidelines and procedures.

During the Question and Answer session, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Baru) will ask the home minister for an update on implementing 17 recommendations to strengthen security controls, screening, and risk management at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and other international gateways.

Datuk Yusuf Abd Wahab (GPS-Tanjong Manis) will ask the natural resources and environmental sustainability minister about steps taken to address cross-border haze, particularly in Sarawak, along with any diplomatic or legal actions taken by the ministry.

Following the oral question session, the Dewan Rakyat will proceed with the first reading of the Supply Bill 2027 by the finance minister and the second reading of the Sports Development (Amendment) Bill 2026 by the youth and sports minister.

The Third Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament will sit for 37 days until Dec 8.
