Sony Music executive Emily Rasekh has joined CAA as an executive in the creators division.

In the role, announced Monday, Rasekh will work on podcast and digital media strategies for clients across film, television, news and more.

She most recently served as senior vice president of global podcast strategy and operations at Sony Music Entertainment, where she spent seven years building out the company’s podcast business. This included partnering with leading podcast creators, negotiating talent agreements, content licensing deals, multi-show partnerships and strategic investments. She also led the launch of Sony’s true-crime podcast network and subscription franchise, The Binge.

Rasekh previously held senior leadership roles at CBS, where she led mobile and video strategy across the company’s television and radio stations and led the launch of CBS Radio’s podcast business. Earlier in her career, she worked in strategy and business development at MTV, with a focus on emerging distribution platforms, strategic partnerships and new business opportunities for Comedy Central, Spike and more.

She began her career in investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

“Emily brings an exceptional combination of experience across talent partnerships, programming, and business strategy, along with a deep understanding of how the creator economy continues to evolve,” said Josh Lindgren, head of podcasts for CAA. “She has a proven track record of building businesses, forging meaningful partnerships, and identifying new opportunities for creators. We’re excited to welcome her to the team and look forward to the impact she’ll have as we continue to grow our business.”
