AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze made an impressive start to the new Serie A campaign, helping the Rossoneri secure a 2-1 away victory over Torino on Sunday night.

The Super Eagles winger was deployed in an unfamiliar wing-back role by new manager Ruben Amorim but adapted brilliantly to the tactical demands, earning the official Man of the Match award from Serie A.

Chukwueze also made a decisive contribution in attack, providing the assist for Adrien Rabiot’s second goal as Milan secured all three points at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Turin.

His performance offered an encouraging early indication of how influential the Nigerian could be under Amorim, particularly in a system that requires him to combine his attacking qualities with greater defensive responsibility.

Speaking to DAZN after the match, Chukwueze expressed his satisfaction with Milan’s winning start but insisted the focus had already shifted towards the challenges ahead.

“Now we have to look forward, but I’m very satisfied,” Chukwueze said.

The 26-year-old also made it clear that he is fully prepared to embrace the demands of his new role and give everything for the team throughout the campaign.

Asked about the workload involved, Chukwueze promised to continue putting in the effort whenever Amorim calls on him.

“I’m ready, I can’t wait, and I’ll do it all season,” he added.

Chukwueze’s display will further strengthen his case for a prominent role in Amorim’s plans after the Nigerian returned to Milan following a productive loan spell at Fulham last season.

With his pace, attacking ability and growing willingness to contribute defensively, the winger could become an important weapon for Milan as they look to mount a strong challenge for the Serie A title.

For Chukwueze, however, the message from the opening weekend is simple: he is ready to run, fight and contribute wherever his new manager needs him.
