Marcus Thuram and Pio Esposito will lead the line for Inter against Como in the absence of Lautaro Martinez, as Cesc Fabregas again turns to Nico Paz, Martin Baturina and Tasos Douvikas in attack in Serie A on Sunday evening.

This is a real battle at the top end of the Serie A table, as third-place Inter will be hoping to move within one point of the lead with a victory this evening, while Como, fifth ahead of kick-off, could overtake their opponents into third if they walk away with victory.

It kicks off at 17.00 GMT (18.00 CET).

Both sides are coming in off the back of midweek Champions League victories: Hosts Inter defeated Feyenoord 3-0 in Rotterdam whilst the visitors smashed Lens 9-1 in the largest away victory in the competition’s history.

In terms of Serie A form, Inter will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a disappointing 3-1 Derby della Madonnina defeat against rivals Milan last weekend. They had won four in a row before the Milan defeat. Como, meanwhile, beat Venezia last weekend in what was their fourth consecutive league victory.

Inter will be able to call upon Alessandro Bastoni again after his recent suspension and also have Curtis Jones and John Stones available for selection. The English pair start among the substitutes against Como.

Captain and leading goalscorer Lautaro Martinez remains out injured, as does Luis Henrique.

Pio Esposito and Marcus Thuram are selected to lead the line in San Siro.

Como have a longer injury list that includes Moise Kean, Jesus Rodriguez, Assane Diao, Jayden Addai and Trevoh Chalobah.

The Como attack is again led by Tasos Douvikas, Nico Paz and Lucas Da Cunha, with Martin Baturina called back into the starting line-up after coming off the bench against Lens midweek. Robert Sanchez is preferred to Jean Butez in goal.
