Atwoli: As long as I’m alive, I won’t allow another family member to be cremated

Trade unionist Francis Atwoli says he reluctantly accepted the fact that his daughter-in-law Maureen Achieng Nyadida-Lukoye, who died on September 7, had chosen to be cremated upon death.

Mr Atwoli, the secretary-general of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu), says that the only thing that made him accept the cremation wish is the fact that Ms Achieng’s father, Samwel Nyadida, had no problem with the procedure.
