A police officer assigned to the Pasig City Police was arrested following a report that he pointed a loaded gun at the passengers of a van at a gasoline station along Sandoval Avenue in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

In an exclusive 24 Oras report by EJ Gomez on Monday, the suspect was confirmed to be intoxicated when victims inside the van recorded him pointing his firearm at them and appearing ready to pull the trigger.

“Baka kilala ninyo po ‘yung sira-ulong ito, may dalang baril,” a woman can be heard saying in the video.

(You might know this crazy person, he’s armed with a gun.)

In the video, the suspect can also be seen walking unsteadily, and according to the victims, he allegedly approached other vehicles as well.

A passenger in the van said they were heading home from Makati City on Sunday when they needed to stop for gas at around 6 p.m.

According to “Alias Joy," they initially thought the man was just going to ask for money.

As in ang tagal niya pong ginawa ’yon sa ‘min,” Joy recalled.

(My husband noticed a man. He told me, ‘Ma, look at that man, what is he doing?’ Then when we looked, he was already pointing... a gun at us. He probably did that 2 to 3 times. He was doing that to us for a really long time.)

(Our vehicle windows were tinted, so he was really squinting while aiming inside. I was shaking because I was holding my child. I didn’t know who would get hit—my husband, or me and my child? My sister-in-law was also behind me.)

The victims reported the incident to the police, who immediately confirmed the man's identity as an active police officer holding the rank of Police Top Sergeant.

The suspect was apprehended, and the loaded service firearm he used in the incident was confiscated.

Wilson Delos Santos said.

(He is a beat patroller assigned to Substation 5.)

The suspect was off duty and confirmed to be drunk when the incident occurred.

“Meron daw silang family problem.

(He reportedly had a family problem. He drank alcohol, and that led him to misbehave. He will be jailed and suspended for what he did. Actually, the administrative case we will file against him is grave, and he could also be dismissed from the service.)

The suspect is now in the custody of the Pasig City Police Station. He declined to give a statement.– Lyjah Tiffany Bonzo/RF, GMA News
