Police investigate fatal Frankston fire
Police are investigating a fire at a home in Melbourne's south-east that claimed the life of a woman on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to a blaze at Stanley Street in Frankston just before 5pm.
Crews arrived to find a lower level of a two-storey unit on fire, bringing it under control about half an hour later.
A yet-to-be-identified woman was found dead inside the home.
No one else was inside the property at the time.
Police say the circumstances of the fire are yet to be determined, with a crime scene now in place and an arson chemist to attend the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
