ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Police recovered about 200 grams of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P1.36 million during a search warrant operation in Barangay Bahit, Panitan, Capiz, on Friday morning, Aug. 14.

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) said the operation was conducted at 6:48 a.m. against alias “Kenn,” a 43-year-old married and unemployed man classified as a high-value individual and listed as a regional priority target.

The suspect was not at the premises when police served the warrant and remains at large.

The operation followed more than a year of intelligence monitoring, validation and surveillance into the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities in various parts of Capiz, police said.

Police recovered two knot-tied transparent plastic bags and six heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu, along with drug paraphernalia.

PRO6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño commended the operating teams and said the seizure prevented a significant amount of suspected illegal drugs from reaching communities.

“Although the target was not apprehended, we have successfully prevented a substantial volume of suspected shabu from reaching our communities. We will relentlessly pursue him and intensify our investigation to identify and hold his accomplices accountable,” Tuaño said.

Police have launched follow-up operations to locate the suspect and identify other individuals allegedly linked to his drug network. Authorities also urged the public to provide information that could lead to his arrest. /cb
