Fire damages two cars, motorcycle at Klang apartment

KLANG: Two cars and a motorcycle were damaged in an early morning fire at an apartment in Meru, Kapar.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 5.07am over the blaze at Block B of the Meru Impian Apartment.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said five firefighters from the Kapar Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene and arrived at 5.11am.

"The fire involved two cars and a motorcycle.

"A Proton Exora was about 80 per cent destroyed, while a Toyota Vios sustained about 60 per cent damage.

"A Yamaha Avantiz motorcycle was also about 30 per cent destroyed," he said in a statement.

Ashrul said firefighters brought the blaze under control at 5.50am before completely extinguishing it.

The operation ended at 6.20am.

"No casualties were reported," he said.

The cause of the fire and estimated losses have yet to be determined.
