Mumbai’s away Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh, scheduled from October 18 to 21, has been shifted from Dharamshala to the Luhnu Cricket Ground in Bilaspur following heavy rain in the hill town.

The Dharamshala ground could not be prepared in time because of the inclement weather, prompting the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) to inform the BCCI about the change of venue.

“We have been getting heavy rain in Dharamshala, because of which we couldn’t get the ground ready. That’s why we informed the BCCI about the change,” HPCA secretary Manuj Sharma told Sportstar.

Sharma, however, was hopeful that the iconic Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium would be ready to host the team’s next home fixture.

Dharamshala has endured persistent rain in recent weeks. Earlier, India Women A’s matches against Australia A were also moved out of the venue because of the weather.

Bilaspur, in the southwestern part of Himachal Pradesh, is a hill town best known for the Bhakra Dam and the Gobind Sagar Lake.

Mumbai will begin its Ranji Trophy campaign at home against Chandigarh before travelling to Bilaspur.
