MTN Group President and CEO, Ralph Mupita, has reaffirmed MTN's commitment to supporting Ghana's digital infrastructure and digital sovereignty.

He made this known during a working visit to Ghana on Monday, October 26 2026, as MTN Ghana marks 30 years of operating in the country.

"Ghana remains a material operation for the Group, and our confidence in the country's long-term prospects is unchanged. Our commitment is to support the Government’s digital transformation through mobile broadband and financial networks that support and strengthen Ghana's digital sovereignty and support Africa's progress," Mr. Mupita said.

During the visit, Mr. Mupita engaged key government stakeholders on how MTN's accelerated investment will advance financial inclusion, connectivity and a resilient digital economy.

Mr. Mupita paid a courtesy call on the Vice President of the Republic, H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

Discussions focused on digital financial inclusion and how mobile money and digital platforms can expand economic opportunity for Ghanaian women, including traders, farmers and small business owners.

The delegation also met the Honourable Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George.

The meeting focused on accelerating home broadband, expanding fibre and the rollout of 5G to enhance the experience for customers as well as investments needed to enable Ghana’s digital infrastructure needs.

The final call was on the Bank of Ghana, with the Governor, Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama. Mr. Mupita commended the Bank's work in consolidating macroeconomic stability and reaffirmed MTN's commitment to a safe, well-governed and inclusive digital payments ecosystem.

MTN will continue investing in Ghana across connectivity, fintech and digital infrastructure.

Mr. Mupita was accompanied by MTN Ghana CEO, Stephen Blewett and MobileMoney Fintech Limited CEO, Shaibu Haruna.
