Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star player, has always been passionate about his investments in popular brands. As he impressed everyone with a record breaking performance on the field, one of Travis Kelce's major and most recent investments has landed itself in controversial trouble.

Travis Kelce’s investment in Six Flags faces a closure of the infamous X2 ride ahead of the holiday season

A few hours ago, as per reports, Six Flags’ infamous X2 ride will be facing a closure after being shut down since July 2026. The shut down happened after two women landed in brain surgery, just hours after getting on the ride.

Travis Kelce has found his name closely associated with the brand since he teamed up with activist hedge fund JANA Partners to invest a whopping $200 million for a 9% stake.Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President Brian Oerding posted on Six Flags' corporate website, "While X2 consistently passed a multitude of safety tests, we have decided to close the ride because we believe it’s the right thing to do…”Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President Brian Oerding added, “Ride safety is a cornerstone of our business, and when we see guest confidence affected, we take it seriously."But the trouble is far from over; Southern California-based Dordick Law Corp. has filed multiple lawsuits against Six Flags on behalf of hundreds who have complained of injuries after getting on the infamous ride.Gary A. Dordick said in a statement, "Closing the ride protects future guests, and we welcome that. But it does nothing for the people who have already been hurt…”Gary A. Dordick added, "Six Flags must now take responsibility for them."

What is the legal mess concerning Travis Kelce’s Six Flags all about?

Over the last few years, there have been increasing concern about ride safety, especially the infamous roller coaster X2, in Six Flags.In 2022, a healthy 22 year college graduate Christopher Howley lost his life just hours after getting on the X2 ride with his cousins.

His family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Six Flags and the trial is ongoing.In July 2026, two women were brutally injured and ended up with brain damage after getting on the ride.In the lawsuit filed against Six Flags, a woman named Pamela Guillen sustained injury in July after she took the ride with her daughter Camille.The lawsuit reads as, "When X2 returned to the station, Camille looked at her mother and saw her sitting with a vacant stare and her mouth open…Camille initially thought Pamela was joking. She quickly realized that something was seriously wrong."The Kansas City Chiefs’ star player, Travis Kelce has kept himself away from the legal mess.
