TMS Entertainment announced on Monday that it will stream Lupin III vs. Detective Conan The Movie for free on YouTube for a limited time, starting on October 24. The company's YouTube channel lists that it is streaming the English-dubbed version. Netflix is also listing that the fourth specially curated selection of episodes for the Detective Conan anime will begin streaming on November 1.

TMS describes Lupin III vs. Detective Conan The Movie:

Kid the Phantom Thief has committed another diamond robbery. This time Kid acts out of his character. He not only uses a real gun, also a yakatabune houseboat to make his getaway. While in pursuit of Kid, Conan's skateboard is split into two by Goemon Ishikawa XIII; only then does Conan realize that the Kid is actually Lupin the 3rd in disguise!

Discotek released the film on Blu-ray Disc with an English dub starring the "classic" Lupin the 3rd English cast and the newer theatrical movie cast for Detective Conan. Discotek previously released the film on DVD in Japanese with English subtitles in 2015.

The film crossover between Monkey Punch's Lupin III and Gōshō Aoyama's Detective Conan (Case Closed) opened in Japanese theaters in December 2013. The television special crossover aired in 2009. Discotek also released the special on home video with an English dub.

TMS began streaming the first specially curated selection of Detective Conan episodes in July 2025 on Netflix and Crunchyroll. The episodes are streaming in Japanese and with a new English dub by Studio Nano, different from the Bang Zoom! and Funimation dubs. The first selection of episodes is titled "Conan vs. The Black Organization" and features episodes with the titular antagonists, including ones that had never before been available in the U.S. Crunchyroll and Netflix added more episodes to the first collection in August 2025. "Rivals of the Great Detective," the second curated collection featuring episdoes related to Conan's rivals and allies, began streaming in November 2025, and added more episodes on January 1. The third selection "FBI Intervention" began streaming on May 1, and continued with more episodes on August 1.

Aoyama launched the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine in 1994. The manga has spawned a television anime that has been running since January 1996, as well as an accompanying anime film series. Viz Media publishes the manga under the name Case Closed, Funimation's original localized title. The English manga release uses the same English names from the original Funimation dub when applicable, and it uses the original Japanese names otherwise.

The manga series centers on Conan Edogawa, the alias of detective Shinichi Kudo, whose body shrunk after being poisoned at the beginning of the story. Together with detective Kogoro Mori and his daughter Ran, Conan helps the police solve difficult mysteries.
