Legend Of Zelda 40th Anniversary Collection Officially Announced By Nintendo For October 2026

It was back in February of this year that The Legend of Zelda franchise celebrated its 40th anniversary. With the first game, aptly titled The Legend of Zelda, launching back in 1986, it has officially been four decades since players met Link and Zelda for the first time, and it is hard to believe that the Nintendo franchise is still going strong to this day.

Not only is it as popular as ever, but with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake launching this November, and rumors of the next mainline Zelda entry already swirling, there has never been a better time to be a fan, especially thanks to all of the ongoing anniversary celebrations.

Before then, however, it seems as though fans now have the opportunity to celebrate the title that started it all with brand-new The Legend of Zelda merchandise on the horizon.

From 2 October onwards, original "The Legend of Zelda" merchandise will be available at Animate stores with over 70 different original products being up for grabs as part of this new collection. Not only that, but from October 2, 2026 (Friday) to January 11, 2027 (Monday), Zelda fans living in Japan will be able to attend "The Legend of Zelda | Animate Fair." At the event, every 5,500 yen spent on eligible products will allow you to receive one set of six bookmarks as a gift.

However, let us go back and take a look at the brand-new upcoming merchandise. Whilst there will be over 70 products available, the most notable additions include Korok curtain tassels/curtains, posters, nail stickers, and acrylic stands.

The acrylic stands feature characters from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and what makes them special is their special effects, which see them glow when viewed from different angles. As for the nail stickers, they will allow you to adorn your nails with motifs from The Legend of Zelda franchise as a whole, including the Triforce and Master Sword, gems, icons, and everything in between.

If you are interested in the poster collection, you will find all manner of stunning art with seven unique designs up for grabs. Coming in at 515mm x 728mm, they will make an impressive addition to your walls, but with each design being a secret until you unroll it, you will have to deal with the gacha element for this one.

Last, but not least, are the Korok curtain tassels/curtains. The curtains feature motifs from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and in an adorable detail, they can be tied back with Korok-shaped tassel. Furthermore, this same design can be found on cheaper merchandise, such as eye masks, lip balm cases and accessory pouches.
