Kin of missing MV June Aster passengers arrive in Coron, Palawan

A vessel carrying the relatives of passengers missing from the MV June Aster arrived at Coron Port in Palawan on Sunday morning.
According to GMA News reporter James Augustin’s post, the relatives traveled from Manila on Saturday.
The MV June Aster caught fire Wednesday evening, September 9, while sailing in the waters off Coron, Palawan. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
On Saturday, 41 human remains were recovered from the burned vessels, which brings the death toll to 76.
Aside from the human remains, the remains of a dog aboard the vessel were also recovered.
Meanwhile, the captain of the MV June Aster remains missing.
He was not included in the official list of more than 10 crew members who survived the fire, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.
However, the agency said it received initial information that the captain went with some of the surviving crew members to the Turda Barangay Covered Court. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/KG, GMA News
