Nathan Fielder’s Elizabeth Holmes Doc Sets U.K. Release Date
The Elizabeth Holmes documentary You Can See Everything will hit theaters in the U.K. and Ireland on Nov. 20, A24 said Thursday.
The film, directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, captures the disgraced Theranos founder in the weeks leading up to her incarceration and then again two years into her current prison sentence.
You Can See Everything, created in secret over four years by the directors, looks to allow Holmes, a billionaire turned convicted fraudster, to get her story out as she invited the directors into her home and let their cameras roll as she professed her innocence alongside her partner, Billy Evans.
A24 has also set an Oct. 16 release date for the film in U.S. theaters. The movie had a surprise world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival earlier this year followed by a high-profile screening at the New York Film Festival.
The indie studio in a logline that accompanied the film’s trailer stated: “Thirty-four days before she’s sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss. From boundary-pushing directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim comes You Can See Everything.”
According to a Q&A by the film’s directors that followed a Los Angeles screening this week, Holmes approached A24 to make a documentary about her, and after a series of meetings Fielder and Oppenheim came on board.
