Translate

KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg is expected to announce the dissolution of the state legislative assembly at 3.30pm today, paving the way for the 13th Sarawak election.

The announcement is expected at a press conference at Dewan Perdana, Satria Pertiwi Complex, Petra Jaya, following a state executive council meeting scheduled after Friday prayers.

The Sarawak Premier's Office issued a media invitation this morning, asking media representatives to cover the event.

The development comes amid mounting speculation over the timing of the assembly's dissolution.

If the assembly is dissolved, the Election Commission will set the nomination and polling dates in accordance with the law.
