Bruce Springsteen Releasing Opening Songs from New Concert Film

Translate

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are releasing a preview of their upcoming concert film Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour (Philadelphia Freedom Cut).

The preview of the film comes out September 9th on streaming services. From Springsteen’s opening monologue to “Street of Minneapolis,” written in the wake of federal agents killing two people in the city earlier this year, the preview showcases the opening seven songs in the final concert of their 2026 U.S. tour at Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena. Springsteen and his crew kicked off the evening with a cover of The Temptations’ “War,” and follow it with “Born in the U.S.A.,” “Death to My Hometown,” The Clash’s “Clampdown,” “No Surrender,” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town.” The first four songs feature Tom Morello, who joined the band each night of the tour on stage. The film is directed by Chris Hilson and Thom Zimny. Fans can see the seven-song preview here.

“I’m thrilled to be releasing our final show from the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour — recorded in the birthplace of American freedom, Philadelphia, USA,” Springsteen said in a statement. “On the tour, we rocked the house from one end of the country to the other and, while we were at it, we spoke up everywhere in defense of our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our sacred democracy — which are under attack by a lawless President and his regime. It’s all captured on our Philadelphia Freedom Cut — hope you enjoy it,” he said.

The remaining recordings of the 27-song set will be put out across three separate release dates throughout the year, a press release said. The seven-song preview is dedicated to Dave Marsh, the music journalist and Springsteen biographer.
