#SHOWBIZ: 'A new rainbow': Social media personality Dr Fie marries Captain Amrul Nizar

KUALA LUMPUR: A new chapter has begun for popular social media personality Dr Afifah Hidayah Ahmad Tawfek, better known as Dr Fie, who officially tied the knot with airline captain and entrepreneur Amrul Nizar Anuar in a solemnisation ceremony yesterday.

The 36-year-old dentist was solemnised in the presence of her father at 10am after a single pronouncement of acceptance, receiving one gold dinar as dowry.

Dressed in matching classic white attire, the newlyweds celebrated their special day surrounded by close family and friends.

Ahead of the nuptials, Dr Fie's mother, Dr Zailah Zainuddin, shared a video on Threads showing her daughter in a pink ensemble during the henna night ceremony, accompanied by her three children.

"Praise be to God, congrats dear daughter," Dr Zailah posted alongside a red heart emoji.

Well-wishes poured in across social media, with netizens expressing joy over her fresh start.

A close friend known as Noor shared her happiness for Dr Fie, highlighting how she had successfully moved past her previous heartbreak.

"Congratulations Dayah (Dr Fie's moniker), happily married today. What she once told me was true—she really has moved on. Now she has found a new rainbow after the rain," Noor said.

"I pray that Dayah will be blessed with happiness and that this marriage will last a lifetime. Praise be to God, she has truly moved on."

Taking to Instagram to share her joy, Dr Fie wrote: "May God make everything easy. God willing."

This marks Dr Fie's second marriage. She was previously married to singer Nubhan Ahamad on Aug 29, 2015, before the couple divorced in December last year at the Sepang Syariah Lower Court in Selangor.

They share three children: Aafiya, 9, Ahmad Aafan, 7, and Afzan Nayille, 4.
