"Lie detector skills of a toilet brush": Celebrity Traitors' Joanne McNally pokes fun at show moment

Celebrity Traitors star Joanne McNally has poked fun at her own detective skills in the BBC reality show. The comedian was adamant that Richard E. Grant couldn't possibly be a Traitor, despite telling his fellow contestants that he was just moments after being picked.
Her reasoning was fair, however, believing that a Traitor would not possibly be crazy enough to reveal themselves to the Faithful, thinking that it was simply Richard being eccentric.
She went as far as to promise that she would "eat her bonnet" if it was revealed that Richard was one of the Traitors.

During the first roundtable, it was, in fact, Richard that was banished from the castle, admitting to everyone that they had been right and he was a Traitor.
Joanne is keeping to her word that she will eat her bonnet, sort of, posting a joking video to her Instagram page perusing and trying on hats to consume.
Over the clip, she wrote "Choosing the bonnet I promised to eat, because I believed the lies of another man."
She seasons the cap she chose with salt, at least, before deciding to tuck in with her knife and fork.
In the caption, she wrote: "I might have the lie detector skills of a toilet brush but I am a woman of my word ! Pass me the bonnet ! And Death to @richard.e.grant !! May his cravats forever be itchy and give him neck acne ! @thetraitorsukofficial (actually he is now game dead so maybe not the death curse I thought it would be) LY Richard !."

Joanne explained why she put so much trust in the Withnail and I star during a chat on her podcast with Vogue Williams, My Therapist Ghosted Me.
She said: "I'm defending him to the hilt. When I say I have never believed something more than he was the faithful, it was wild.
"He is the most unbelievable man. I believe all their lies. They look me in the eye and I believe their lies and then I go out and ride at dawn for them and I make a shell of myself."
Vogue replied: "I think it's very sweet, but like it could not be more obvious that he's a traitor because you've got nothing else to go on.
"If he'd said this in like episode three or something as a joke, but because he said it in episode one, it's like, well, we can just think of other people being Traitors, but we don't actually know. At least this fella said something."

But Joanne continued: "Vogue, you have not been looked in the eye by Richard and told that he's a Faithful. You haven't. You haven't, folk, I'm sorry you haven't. No, sorry.
"You don't know that experience. You don't know how convincing he is. It turns out he's a really good actor, and turns out I am the most gullible human alive, and I'm a male apologist."
The Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
