18 huge Emmerdale spoilers for next week (28 September to 2 October)

Next week in Emmerdale, Sadie continues her efforts to try and find Jimmy's money – but could her scheme with Robert be in jeopardy after two major slip-ups?

Meanwhile, grieving Joe decides to put his and Dawn's baby up for adoption, bringing up painful memories for Kim. And after Thea has doubts about her initial impressions of Kim, an overheard conversation later empowers her to take action.

Elsewhere, there's further heartbreak for both Nicola and Vinny, and Manpreet's concern for Gabby escalates when she stumbles across her health conspiracies on social media.

1. Sadie plots to manipulate Ruby

As Sadie and Robert continue their plot to locate Jimmy's missing money, she gets a feeling that it's hidden at the depot.

In order to investigate further, Sadie feigns interest in Ruby's wine business, paying her a visit and sampling some of the products.

2. Caleb catches Sadie red-handed

Having made her way into the depot, Sadie seizes the opportunity to search for Jimmy's stashed cash.

However, she's put on the spot when Caleb catches her. Demanding to know what she's up to, Sadie admits that she's looking for Jimmy's money and says that she plans to give it to Nicola…

3. Sadie makes a big slip-up

Sadie continues to work on gaining Ruby's trust, as they continue drinking together.

But under the influence of Ruby's finest wines, Sadie makes a big mistake, admitting to a fling with Federico in New York last Christmas – when she was supposedly rekindling her romance with Jimmy. Could her scheme be under threat?

4. Robert starts to have doubts

Robert, who's in on Sadie's scheme in exchange for half the cash after figuring out that she was broke, starts to feel concerned after her big mistake at the depot.

When Ruby asks questions about their conversation the previous night, panicked Sadie has to think on her feet again to cover her tracks. She admits the scale of the problem to Robert, who suggests that they should cut their losses and abandon their scheme now.

But Sadie insists that they keep looking for Jimmy's money, as she's convinced the reward will be worth the risk. Will Robert continue to support her?

5. Kim urges grieving Joe to think again

Kim visits the hospital to see the newest member of the Tate family. However, Joe – still angry and grieving Dawn's death – has banned anyone from seeing his newborn son. He is adamant that the baby is going to be put up for adoption.

A horrified Kim tries to get Joe to reconsider such a huge decision, and is deeply upset by his proposal. Having vowed to protect baby Tate, can Kim convince Joe to think again?

6. Graham gives Joe an ultimatum

Graham also thinks that Joe will regret his plan. He tries his best to get Joe to change his mind, as it's a decision he can't support. Graham gives Joe an ultimatum – if he goes through with putting the baby up for adoption, then he's going to cut off contact and he'll be out of Joe's life for good.

Will Joe listen to his friend and mentor, or is he about to destroy their relationship forever?

7. Joe's decision leads to fresh pain for Kim

When Joe and Graham bring the baby back to Home Farm, Kim is delighted. However, this is short-lived, as it soon becomes clear that they have brought the newborn with them so Kim can say her last goodbyes to him.

A distraught Kim begs Joe one last time to change his mind, and things only get worse when she learns Graham is leaving the village, too.

As he departs Home Farm with the baby, Graham tells Kim that Joe needs her now more than he ever has.

It's clear that Kim's distress in the present has brought up painful past memories of giving up her own daughter, Thea, for adoption.

8. Billy is furious with Joe

There's an odd atmosphere at Home Farm after Graham's abrupt exit. When Billy learns that Joe has given up his and Dawn's son for adoption, he can't believe it.

Already upset after he and the children were nearly banned from attending Dawn's funeral, Joe's latest decision leaves Billy even more angry – and he makes his feelings very clear.

Meanwhile, Joe's dependence on alcohol is escalating further, as he drinks excessively from a bottle of whisky in private after his row with Billy.

9. Thea wonders if she was fair to Kim

Having arrived in the Dales determined to get revenge on Kim for putting her up for adoption all those years ago, Thea starts to have doubts about her plan.

The two have a poignant conversation at the grave of Kim's late husband Will, and Thea is left reflecting on her own feelings towards Kim as a result. She decides to seek some advice…

10. Thea has a heart-to-heart with Serena

Thea decides to confide in Serena, saying that her conversation with Kim showed her a new, more vulnerable side that she hadn't been expecting. She wonders if she's got Kim all wrong, and asks her pal for advice.

Serena suggests to Thea that perhaps she should be honest with Kim and tell her that she's her long-lost daughter. What will Thea decide to do?

11. A chance conversation clears things up for Thea

Thea is still pondering what to do when she heads to The Woolpack. It isn't long before there's drama when Vinny, who was responsible for the car crash that led to Jimmy and Dawn's deaths, arrives and Kim loses her cool.

Later, Thea overhears a conversation about Joe and Dawn's son, and interprets it as cruel and unfeeling towards the newborn baby.

Events at the pub make things clear for Thea – she plans to put any feelings of sympathy towards Kim aside and push towards getting revenge on her.

12. Thea and Serena raise Sarah's suspicions

The start date for Charity's murder trial is fast approaching and Sarah is starting to feel guilty. Knowing that her grandmother could go to prison for a murder she committed, she's already repeatedly changed her statement about the night that Dr Todd died.

Sarah's left suspicious when she spots Serena and Thea together ­– and they seem to be going to great lengths not to be discovered. How will Sarah use this information?

13. Manpreet's concerns about Gabby grow

Manpreet sees Gabby for an appointment and diagnoses her cough as a suspected case of bronchitis. She prescribes her a course of antibiotics.

After the appointment, Gabby's developing fixation on a 'clean eating' lifestyle leaves her feeling sceptical about whether to use the prescription.

14. Gabby and Laurel have a fall-out

Gabby and Laurel have an argument about The Hide's healthy eating menu, and their differences are made worse by the cafe's precarious financial situation.

Laurel decides that she's had enough and quits – and Robert's delighted to see that their business partnership is faltering.

15. Gabby's condition gets even worse

Gabby's cough is getting worse, and she's privately alarmed to discover that she is coughing up blood.

Increasingly concerned, she returns to Manpreet, who orders blood tests to investigate the issue further.

But when Gabby shares some conspiracy theories about pharmaceutical companies during their appointment, Manpreet is even more worried.

16. Manpreet tries to make a breakthrough with Gabby

Manpreet explores some of Gabby's social media reels and comes to a realisation, inviting her for another appointment to discuss a diagnosis.

At their appointment, Manpreet tells Gabby that she thinks she may have orthorexia. But while Manpreet has noted Gabby's excessive concern for what she eats and what medicines she will use, Gabby denies that she is overly focused on her eating habits.

17. Laurel and Bob try to comfort Nicola

Grieving Nicola is reeling after learning that Vinny was responsible for the crash that killed Jimmy and Dawn. On top of that, the content of Jimmy's voicemails on his laptop have led to another uncomfortable revelation for her.

Laurel sees her distress and takes her home, wishing she could do more to help when Nicola opens up to her about the voicemails.

Later Nicola is still struggling with her anger towards Vinny and distress over Jimmy's secrets. She opens up to Bob, who tries to console her.

18. Vinny faces heartbreak and further distress

After Lewis's attempt to propose to Vinny didn't go to plan, he ends their relationship. As Vinny reels from his heartbreak, Mandy steps in to comfort him.

But there's more on Vinny's mind than the end of his romance with Lewis. He seeks advice about prison from Aaron, and a visit to Nicola to return some of Jimmy's personal belongings leaves him in tears.

Later, Vinny confides in Aaron again, sharing a plan with him. With the weight of his part in the crash still clearly having a big impact on Vinny, what is he thinking of doing?
