Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series is one of the most popular fantasy properties out there. The sprawling epic has thousands of characters that span 14 books (15, counting the prequel, A New Spring) but the core cast led by Rand Al'Thor has been capturing readers' attention for decades. Sadly, the popularity of the books didn't exactly translate when Amazon's show arrived, with Prime Video canceling The Wheel of Time after three seasons.

If you've read the books, then you already know how The Wheel of Time ends. If you've only watched the show, then you may be eager to learn how the story ultimately ends, and what's in store for fan-favorite characters like Lan and Moraine, or what happens to Mat, Perrin, Egwene, and the others. Thanks to War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time, which has been live on Kickstarter for a while, you can experience the end of the Third Age in a new way.

Fully releasing in 2027, War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time is an official tabletop game adapted from Robert Jordan's beloved series. Created by Dire Wolf, the board game raised over $1 million on Kickstarter and features miniatures of characters, maps, and more. It also has two modes, one of which lets you control large-scale armies. So, if you want to feel what it's like facing off against the Seanchan or taking part in the Battle of Two Rivers, here's your chance.

War of the Dragon will comprise most of the books, from The Shadow Rising all the way until the end of the Third Age. So, if you want to see how things pan out, this is a great way to do that. And if you already know how everything ends in A Memory of Light, it's still pretty cool getting to experience them in a game for yourself.

Wheel of Time War of the Dragon board game components all laid out next to the box.

War of the Dragon is mostly focused on Rand's excalating war against the Dark One. As the Dragon Reborn, though, Rand will have a number of countries and cultures face off with (or against) him along the way. From the looks of things, it looks like those epic battles will translate well into the game.

And for all the fans who felt cheated after the show's Prime Video cancellation, this can hopefully serve as a different kind of finale for you next year. No matter how you became a fan of The Wheel of Time, the War of the Dragon looks pretty enticing, and it sounds fun to revisit events from the later books after all this time has passed.
