RoS confirms PN's deregistration

Translate

PUTRAJAYA: The Registrar of Societies Malaysia (RoS) has confirmed that Perikatan Nasional's registration has been cancelled, saying the coalition's explanation failed to address the grounds for cancellation outlined in an earlier notice.

RoS said the decision was made under subparagraph 13(1)(c)(iv) of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 832), after reviewing all documents and representations submitted by PN on Oct 12.

It said a notice dated Sept 22 had been issued to PN under subsection 13(2) of the Act, allowing the coalition to provide explanations and representations on the matters raised.

"After reviewing all documents and explanations submitted, the Registrar of Societies found that the reasons given failed to refute the grounds for cancellation of registration stated in the notice.

"They also did not provide sufficient justification to maintain the organisation's registration," it said.
