HBO's new heartwarming documentary The Slightest Touch has confirmed its release date, as well as releasing a new trailer. Directed and produced by Rachel Fleit, the film follows Emma Fogarty and Colin Farrell in a unique tale about friendship in the face of adversity.

After premiering at the BFI London Film Festival in the UK, the film will be available to stream on HBO Max from Thursday, 26 November.

The film follows Emma, born with a condition that leaves her body covered in wounds, as she prepares to run the Dublin Marathon alongside the Banshees of Inisherin star.

A synopsis teases: "Emma Fogarty has spent her life defying expectations. Born with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), an extremely rare and devastating condition that causes her skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch, Emma refuses to be defined by her disease.

"Instead, she has built a life marked by resilience, purpose, and an unwavering determination to live on her own terms."

It continues: "As she turns 40, an age doctors once believed she would never reach, Emma and her longtime friend Colin Farrell embark on the challenge of completing the Dublin Marathon together.

"After running the full marathon himself, Colin joins Emma for the final four kilometers, pushing her wheelchair one kilometer for each decade that she has lived with EB."

In a statement, creators say The Slightest Touch is "a moving celebration of friendship, community, and the extraordinary strength found in human connection".

The film has garnered several rave reviews since being screened, with one user writing on Letterboxd that it is "incredibly honest and informative and really puts things into perspective".

Another added: "Fleit's film is one of hope, compassion and kindness. It has an unapologetically sentimental style at times and is possibly a bit more on the televisual side than cinematic, but really... if you are casting much of a critical eye over this film, you need to question your humanity."

A third wrote: "It made me reflect on how much beauty there is in the little things we can so easily take for granted: the people we share our lives with, the world around us, and the everyday moments that make being alive so special. Sometimes, it takes a film like this to remind us just how lucky we are to experience it all."

The Slightest Touch will be available to stream on HBO Max from Thursday, 26 November.
