United Parcel Service (UPS) announced that the package delivery giant is hiring 100K seasonal employees in hundreds of locations nationwide to meet the holiday delivery rush period. The company noted it will be offering competitive pay, flexible shifts that fit various schedules, and a path to a permanent job.

The UPS (UPS) holiday shipping plans for this year focus on more precise tracking, stronger package security, flexible delivery and returns options, and increased automation. A key feature is RFID-powered tracking, which gives customers more precise, real-time information as packages move through the UPS (UPS) network. Of note, UPS (UPS) expects to deliver more than 4B RFID-enabled packages by the end of 2026.

UPS (UPS) is also introducing a Protected Delivery program for eligible shipments. The service requires recipients to give the driver a PIN before a package is released, adding security for high-value purchases and sensitive deliveries. Customers will also get new pickup scheduling capabilities and alerts that provide updates on pickup status. For delivery and returns, UPS (UPS) is offering premium air and ground services, while Roadie provides local same-day and big-and-bulky delivery. UPS and Happy Returns will support businesses and shoppers with end-to-end returns options.
