India will face England in the open section and Germany in the women’s section in Round 7 of the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
India endured a setback in the open section in Round 6, going down 1.5-2.5 to host Uzbekistan. The defeat left India seventh in the standings with 10 points, while Uzbekistan remained the only team with a perfect 12 points.
In the women’s section, India moved to 10 points after a convincing 3-1 win over the USA. China and Kazakhstan lead the standings with 12 points each, while India is third.
