Alia nominates six commissioners as ex-council members exit

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has transmitted the names of six commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
The nominees are expected to replace some of the executive council members who resigned to contest various elective offices during the primary elections.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Assembly, Zape Upaa, stated this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The statement read, “The governor, in the letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Alfred Aondoaver Emberga, said the move was intended to strengthen the State Executive Council and inject additional expertise and capacity into the administration.

The nominees include Kuma Aii Yenge, Roy Ashirga Terna, Angwa Egbe Monday, Elizabeth Onma Ogenyi, Solomon Iorpev and Nick Eworo.
The governor requested the House to give the nominees prompt and favourable consideration in accordance with its constitutional responsibility.
The statement stated that the submission of the commissioner nominees comes as the Alia administration continues to consolidate its cabinet and strengthen the machinery of government for effective service delivery across Benue State.
