Frosler hopes Chiefs can channel CAF tears into Carling Knockout glory

Translate

Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler sees the Carling Knockout Cup as an opportunity for the club to claim a trophy this season.

Amakhosi failed to win the MTN8 and this past weekend, they were knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round on penalties.

“It’s disappointing falling out of the CAF competition. The guys did well to try and get back after the first leg in Zambia but it just wasn’t meant to be,” Amakhosi defender, Reeve Frosler told www.kaizerchiefs.com.

“But now our full focus goes onto the Carling Cup.”

A win against TS Galaxy on Tuesday evening would take Amakhosi into the quarterfinals, and Frosler believes it could give his team the impetus to achieve the success that the club is striving for and the supporters dream of.

Frosler hoping Chiefs can go all the way in the CKO

“TS Galaxy have been a tough opponent for us in the last few games. But it’s a cup competition and cup games are always different. We’ll look to put our best foot forward on Tuesday and try and go all the way in the Carling Cup.

‘We have ambitions of wanting to win a trophy and this gives us an opportunity to try and do that,” Frosler said.

Kaizer Chiefs have only the Carling Knockout and Nedbank Cup to chase this season, with the league looking out of reach.

Frosler has been a starter for Chiefs in recent matches and has impressed this campaign. All eyes will be on Amakhosi as they look to bounce back from CAF defeat.

Failure to beat The Rockets at home on Tuesday will add more pressure on head coach Fernando Da Cruz. Fans and the Chiefs management want atleast one trophy this season.
