I’m Way Too Excited for Apple’s Home Event and How It Will Level Up My Siri Experience

I have spent years anticipating the day Apple puts a screen on its smart speakers. It looks like the wait is finally over. Apple confirmed news is dropping Tuesday at an event in New York, and it teased us with the words “Welcome Home.”
In this week’s One More Thing, which you can watch embedded above, I talk about the rumors and leaks of what Apple will likely unveil: new HomePod Minis, a new Apple TV streaming box and a never-before-seen Hub that sits on a counter or hangs on a wall.
I’m downright giddy. The HomePods are long overdue for a refresh to get the omg-it-actually-works-now version of Siri AI and sync better with my iPhone to have more context of my life.
But Apple is very late to this space. What will Apple demonstrate to convince homeowners to go with Siri as their future home assistant, when they might have already invested in systems with Alexa or Gemini?
