Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez got married at their new £30million mansion near Lisbon in front of just four witnesses and their children, it emerged today.

Cristiano's doting mum Dolores Aveiro and his three siblings Hugo, Elma and Katia, were not present at the intimate civil ceremony which took place at 1.30pm on Tuesday.

Georgina's sister Ivana, Cristiano's long-time friend Miguel Paixao and a Spanish couple named as Jose Rodriguez Sangil and his wife Monica Goncalez Martinez were the only witnesses.

Registrar Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira travelled from the northern Portuguese city of Porto to Cascais to officiate the ceremony.

And the star couple, who married exactly one year to the day after they announced their engagement on social media, have decided to keep their pre-nuptial assets separate despite tying the knot after a decade-long romance.

The marriage certificate for Ronaldo and Georgina's wedding has now emerged

The couple posted photos of them wearing their wedding rings after the small ceremony

They signed a pre-nup agreement to define their property regime on August 10 a day before the ceremony at a public notary's office in Lisbon.

Cristiano Ronaldo's representatives had confirmed earlier this week the footballer and his long-time partner married on August 11 in an 'intimate' ceremony in Cascais after the couple posted photos of them wearing their wedding rings on their Instagram accounts.

It followed speculation which turned out to be false that they were due to marry at Funchal Cathedral in Cristiano's native island of Madeira on Saturday.

No details had emerged about where in Cascais they had wed or who exactly was at the ceremony apart from their children.

Overnight respected Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Noticias published a copy of the marriage certificate showing it took place at Cristiano's massive built-from-scratch mansion in the upmarket residential area of Quinta da Marina.

And it also evidenced the fact so few people were invited there appeared to be no place for Cristiano's mum, who gave the union her blessing shortly afterwards by posting a heart emoticon on her son's Instagram in response to his wedding announcement, or the rest of his family apart from his kids.

Jose Rodriguez Sangil was described as a Spanish jeweller by Portuguese press.

The marriage document listed Cristiano's full name and age of 41 as well as his birthplace and the names of his parents including his late father Jose Dinis.

The same details were listed for 32-year-old Georgina, born in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires and referenced by her full name of Georgina Luisa Rodriguez Hernandez.

They will both keep their pre-marriage names, unlike in the UK where newly-married women normally take their husband's surnames.

The marriage certificate was recorded as number 1,493 of this year but appears to have been listed at Porto's Registry Office instead of Cascais which is the municipality where the wedding took place.

Cristiano and Georgina are now back in Saudi Arabia where the Portuguese international plays his club football for Al Nassr, ahead of the start of the new season tomorrow.
