Titus Welliver has returned to DC in a new TV show, and this TV-MA crime thriller series just reached a new high on HBO Max. Welliver is an actor who understands the crime thriller genre quite well. After all, Welliver's list of projects includes the beloved Bosch TV show franchise. The actor gave life to LAPD detective Harry Bosch, who was created in a series of novels penned by Michael Connelly, for seven seasons of Prime Video's successful Bosch series. Due to the crime thriller's success, Welliver would return as the character for another three seasons for the Bosch: Legacy sequel series.
That long history with the franchise has continued, with Welliver playing Harry Bosch in the spin-off Ballard, and he is set to reprise the role for that show's upcoming second season. In parallel to his established role as a crime thriller series icon, Welliver has also had time to play with another major franchise. In live-action, the actor portrayed Superman's rival Lex Luthor in DC's Titans series. In animation, Welliver has voiced Carmine Falcone in the Batman: The Long Halloween movies, and Rorschach in DC's two-part Watchmen adaptation. Now, Welliver's new DC animated series, Get Jiro, has reached a new high on HBO Max.
Welliver's Get Jiro Has Broken Through Into HBO Max's US Top 10
At the time of writing, Get Jiro has become the 8th most-watched TV show on HBO Max in the United States, finally breaking into the streaming service's nationwide Top 10 TV Shows chart, as per FlixPatrol. Get Jiro is an animated DC series that focuses on the title chef in a dystopian future where food is all that matters and the chefs of exclusive restaurants have essentially become mob bosses, with a war for control of Los Angeles at the forefront, all while sushi chef Jiro, voiced by Brian Tee, has his personal reasons to enter the conflict.

Welliver voices Bob, one of the show's two major gang leaders. Get Jiro has left behind 90 Day: Hunt For Love and Have I Got News for You on HBO Max's US chart. The animated DC series now makes company to another release from DC Studios, the live-action HBO series Lanterns, which continues to rule as the most-watched TV show on HBO Max for several weeks now. In addition to its nationwide success, Get Jiro is also currently the 4th most popular TV show on HBO Max worldwide, according to data from FlixPatrol. Only Youth, War, and Lanterns rank above it on the streamer's global chart.
The R-Rated Series Marks A Unique DC Outing For Welliver
Welliver might already have a past at DC, but not in the same way he is now working for the studio under Get Jiro. Sure, the actor appeared in a live-action DC show in the past through Titans, and Welliver voiced DC characters in animated movies like Batman: The Long Halloween and Watchmen. However, Get Jiro marks the first time that the star is part of an animated DC series, and this is a world that does not focus on superheroes, but chefs in a crime thriller scenario, Through his Bosch experience, Welliver is perfectly suited for DC's Get Jiro.
