Sentenced to Be a Hero Smartphone Game Unveils 2nd Visual, 2nd Teaser, Original Characters
Kadokawa unveiled the second teaser key visual and second teaser video for Sentenced to Be a Hero franchise's new game project titled Yūsha-kei ni Shosu -Game of the GODDESS- (Sentenced to Be a Hero -Game of the GODDESS-) on Saturday. The game will be a smartphone game for Android and iOS.
Original light novel author Rocket Shokai is supervising the game's original scenario. The game will feature the following returning cast from the anime:
- Yōhei Azakami as Xylo Forbartz
- Mayu Iizuka as Teoritta
- Shizuka Ishigami as Patausche Kivia
- Shun Horie as Dotta Luzulas
In addition the game will feature new original characters (character name romanizations are not confirmed):
Shokai launched the light novel series on Kadokawa's Kakuyomu site in October 2020, and Kadokawa began publishing the series in print in September 2021 with illustrations by Mephisto.
The anime debuted on January 3 at 10:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX, with a first episode 60-minute special. The second episode aired on January 15, with subsequent episodes airing on Thursdays. The anime aired on 28 channels across Japan. Amazon Prime Video in Japan started streaming the series on January 3, and other sites started on January 6. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and also streamed a same-day English dub. The anime is getting a second season and Crunchyroll will stream it.
Kadokawa also announced on Saturday it will host a character popularity poll for the anime to commemorate the announcement of the second season. The poll is being held from October 3 to to November 3, and the results will be announced in March 2027.
