Christopher Nolan‘s thriller “The Prestige” is returning to theaters in 2027 in honor of the movie’s 20th anniversary.

Disney has scheduled a Jan. 29, 2027 re-release for the film, which will play for the first time on 70mm and Imax screens. In the two decades since, Nolan has revolutionized the format and stoked mass interest through blockbusters like “Oppenheimer” and “The Odyssey.”

“I’m very excited to bring ‘The Prestige’ back to the big screen, and particularly thrilled to offer audiences the chance to see it on 70mm film, and on Imax for the first time,” Nolan said in a statement.

Originally released on Oct. 20, 2006, “The Prestige” follows the decades-long rivalry between two stage magicians (Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman). The movie generated $100 million at the global box office and was nominated for two Oscars. In addition to directing, Nolan co-wrote the film with his brother, Jonathan, and produced alongside his wife, Emma Thomas, and Aaron Ryder.
