The weekend may be over once again, but that does not mean that the upcoming week cannot be dedicated to diving into a brand-new release. Whilst this month is already jam-packed full of big releases, such as Gears of War: E-Day and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, there are some other releases to look forward to, but with games costing more and more each year, it is no wonder that many of us want to try before we buy.

Well, courtesy of Sony, that is now possible, as PlayStation is allowing its users to dive into some incredible games, with some even giving you the opportunity to try ahead of their full launch. Better yet, they are completely free to play, without the need for a PlayStation Plus subscription. So, without further ado, let us take a look at six of the most interesting titles up for offer, including one of 2026's biggest hits so far.

The first is ANOMALITH, a third-person survival shooter game set for full release on 28 October. Developed by Furyu Corporation, it is set in an alternate Japan where the atmosphere is steeped in liminal spaces and Showa-era retro aesthetics. However, in order to search for her missing friend, our protagonist must step into the unknown and face a series of anomalies. With anime-style graphics, impressive combat, and incredible visuals, this is a 2026 release not to miss out on.

There is also SOMBRAS: negative frames, a nostalgic narrative game which follows the story of Shiomi, a Japanese-Spanish photography student who finds herself spirited away in a dark mirror of her 2000s Japanese town. Combining elements of horror and photography, Shiomi must confront fragments of her own psyche as she explores this new world and most importantly, tries to survive it. Set to launch on 3 December, this is your chance to try it months in advance.

As for The Slormancer, this hack-and-slash dungeon crawler will see you fight hordes of enemies, sent by an evil warlock from the past. Combining fast-paced gameplay with shiny loot and collectibles, players will get to experience a pixel-art aesthetic and hours worth of content as they take on the role of a Mighty Knight, a Fierce Huntress or a Mischievous Mage. If you are a fan of Hades, you are sure to love this 2025 release.

Have you ever wondered what goes on underneath your local British pub? Well, wonder no more, as Hazard Levels has all the answers. In this 1–4 player physics-driven co-op survival horror, you will enter unstable rifts, survive otherworldly creatures, and discover bizarre elements as you fight in the bowels of the cellar of a British pub. The deeper you go, the stranger it gets, but, as long as you get back before last orders, you should be fine. Surely.

Castlevania Belmont's Curse castle

Rhythm Roll is for all the music fans out there, as players will get to test their beat and their reflexes as they control a fast-moving ball through a series of neon-soaked levels, each with its own unique design and soundtrack. As the official synopsis reads, "Dodge obstacles, stay on the beat, and test your reflexes. Simple to play, but can you master the speed?" Set to launch fully this November, now is your opportunity to test your skills, and try before you buy.

Last, but by no means least, as it is currently the talk of the gaming sphere, is Castlevania: Belmont's Curse. As the latest installment in the Castlevania franchise, this 2D action-exploration title will see players take on the role of Rose Belmont in a story set 23 years after Castlevania Dracula's Curse. Here at Screen Rant, our very own Ben Brosofsky awarded this new release an impressive 8/10 and wrote:

There's a lot here for Castlevania fans to enjoy, with everything from charming series staples to brilliant new ideas capable of sparking genuine joy. More than anything else, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is incredibly fun to play. At the end of the night, when Dracula is finally dead once more, isn't that what Castlevania is all about?

These six titles and hundreds more games are free to check out courtesy of PlayStation Demos, so if you want to find your next favorite game, without having to splash the cash just yet, do not miss out on this underrated feature.
