“They’re Too Strong” — Okoye Reflects On Udinese’s Defeat To Inter

Translate

Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has reacted to his side’s 5-3 defeat to Inter Milan at the San Siro, Completesports.com reports.

Udinese Succumb to Inter’s Firepower

Udinese made a stunning start to the encounter, racing into a two-goal lead inside the opening 15 minutes.

James Abankwah opened the scoring before Jurgen Ekkelenkamp doubled Udinese’s advantage.

However, Inter quickly turned the game around, with Carlos Augusto and Niccolò Barella scoring within 10 minutes to restore parity.

Marcus Thuram then completed Inter’s comeback three minutes before the hour mark, putting the hosts ahead for the first time.

The Serie A champions continued to pile on the pressure, with Francesco Pio Esposito and Ange-Yoan Bonny adding two more goals to give Inter a commanding 5-2 lead.

Idrissa Gueye scored a late consolation for Udinese in stoppage time, but it was not enough to prevent the visitors from suffering defeat.

Okoye Laments Defeat

Okoye admitted that Inter were simply too strong for Udinese on the night, while acknowledging the quality and attacking intensity of the home side.

“It’s always difficult against Inter at San Siro. They play very attacking football and don’t stop even after scoring three or four goals. We also had our chances, but they are too strong,” Okoye told Udinese’s official website.

The defeat leaves Udinese on four points, with the club now turning its attention to their next league fixture against Cagliari at the Bluenergy Stadium on Saturday.
