First Trailer for Lionel Messi’s ‘Messi & the Giants’ Animated Show Features Music From Luck Ra

Lionel Messi is bringing his soccer legacy to a fantastical new world. Messi and the Giants — an animated Disney sports-fantasy series executive produced by the global soccer icon — revealed its first teaser Friday (Oct. 2) at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga in Spain.

The series’ theme song, “Vamos, Vamos, Vamos,” was recorded by four-time Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart-topper Luck Ra, whose track is featured in the teaser. The presentation, held before more than 3,000 fans in Hall M, offered a first look at the series’ mythology, characters and music.

Messi and the Giants follows Leo, a 12-year-old boy who becomes trapped in an alternate reality ruled by giants. To return home, he must “compete in high-stakes, soccer-like battles using powerful ‘orbs,’ defeat legendary giants, and restore the fractured realms of ‘Iko,'” according to the press release. “Unlike everyone else, Leo can’t use the world’s code powers to supercharge his game, so he relies on his real strengths — skill, teamwork and determination — turning the story into an underdog adventure about courage, perseverance and believing in yourself.” Argentinian actor Milo Burgess-Webb will voice Leo.

The Comic-Con Málaga panel included executive producers Lacey Stanton and Bryan Korn of Sony Pictures Television, director Dan Creteur of Atlantis Studios and Sergi Reitg of Sony Music Vision. Messi and the Giants is executive produced by Kurt Mueller, Bryan Korn, Lacey Stanton and Guy Toubes for Sony Pictures Television; Afo Verde for Sony Music Latin Iberia; and Tom Mackay and Sergi Reitg for Sony Music Vision. Atlantis Animation is in charge of the series’ animation. Messi and Jorge Messi Pérez (in memoriam) also serve as executive producers.

The series is set to premiere globally on Disney+ in summer 2027, with Disney Channel also scheduled to air the show in the U.S. Watch the teaser trailer below.
